Kokshetau (Kazakh: Көкшетау / Kökşetaw), formerly known as Kokchetav (Russian: Кокчетав, until 1993) is the administrative center of Akmola Region, northern Kazakhstan. Population: 135,106 (2009 Census results);123,389 (1999 Census results).
